Assembling The Clay Grinder
Fit the auger, blade and plate exactly as the manufacturer intended, but leave out any fine food-processing attachments that create unnecessary resistance. A medium or coarse plate is generally more suitable for pottery. Tighten the front ring firmly without forcing it, since excess pressure can make the auger difficult to turn.
Secure the grinder so the outlet sits above the collection tray. A hand-cranked model should be fixed to a bench with a clamp that will not slip.
