From the artist
Unique, decorative wall plates are my favorite pieces to make because they’re all about intuition and improvisation. Each piece has its own creative process. I start by marking patterns or drawing lines with my fingers. My hands are my favorite tool and I also use wooden tools and different objects to create textures.
Nature plays an important role in my artwork. I was very lucky to grow up in Oregon—a stunning natural environment. In my series of decorative plates, you will see patterns inspired by water, waves, sticks, stones, and wandering trails.
